6 Things We Learned from the Robotiq Challenge

Posted by Chris Thompson on Sep 14, 2017 5:25:32 PM

Have you ever seen a hotel ballroom filled with robots, conveyors and engineers? We had the opportunity to experience it first hand earlier this week when Robotiq asked us to sponsor their second annual Robotiq User Conference in Quebec City.

The conference included a challenge where eight teams of 12 engineers used their robots, conveyors, grippers, and sensors to build "pumps." They had 24 hours to design their system, program the robots and crank out pumps.

Here are six things we learned from watching them work.

Reduced Lead Times on Conveyors with V-Guide and Cleated Belts

Posted by Chris Thompson on Sep 21, 2016 9:30:00 AM

We're excited to announce that conveyors using our V-Guide and Cleated Belts now have significantly reduced lead times!

Automation Series Conveyors with V-Guide belts using any of our seven Quick Ship belt materials now carry a seven day lead time. V-Guides are ideal for applications that involve side loading/exiting or applications that benefit from additional methods for keeping the belt centered on the conveyor.

Conveyors with our standard cleated belts, using either an MAA or MAE base material, now carry a seven day lead time as well. The cleats are available in heights of 5mm, 1/2", 1", 2", and 3" and help with maintaining forward motion when the conveyor is on an incline or with products that may roll. This applies to 125 Conveyors and Automation Series Conveyors.

These cleats are available in the Conveyor Configurator immediately.
